NLPNP Skilled Worker Stream Requirements
 
  • An offer for permanent employment from a business based in Newfoundland and Labrador; or
  • An employment offer that adequately addresses the provincial wage and employment standards. 
  • All the necessary qualifications, training, and documentation to fulfill job requirements. 
  • A Work Permit issued by the IRCC or eligibility to obtain one. 
  • Work permit with at least six months of validity at the time of submission. 
  • The desire to live and work in Newfoundland and Labrador.
  • Sufficient funds to accommodate yourself and family/partner. 
  • Employment from a business that can verify that your skills are required. 
  • Language test results to demonstrate language abilities required by the job. 

Note: The occupation or job offer should not in the list of ineligible occupations. Applications are advised to examine the ineligible occupations list before applying under this stream.

International Graduate Stream

This stream is designed for foreign students who have graduated from a designated tertiary university in Canada. 

NLPNP International Graduate Stream Requirements
 
  • Graduation from a designated public tertiary institution in Canada and at least half of the academic qualifications must be the completed in Canada. 
  • At least a two-year diploma or degree while studying full-time. In the case of a postgraduate degree, the education must be at least one year long. 
  • A job offer for a permanent, full-time position. 
  • A Post-Graduate Work Permit issued by the IRCC.
  • All the relevant qualifications, training, and documents required for the job position. 
  • The desire to live and work in Newfoundland and Labrador.
  • A job offer that addresses the provincial standards for employment and wages. 
  • An employment offer that comes with the potential for career advancement.
  • Sufficient funds to accommodate yourself and your family/partner.
  • Language test results to demonstrate proficiency required for the job. job.

Note: Applicants who have graduated from a university outside the province might require one-year work experience in their relevant field of study before applying to the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program. 

International Graduate Entrepreneur Stream

This NLPNP stream is designed for foreign students graduated from the College of the North Atlantic or Memorial University.

NLPNP International Graduate Entrepreneur Requirements
  • The applicant has already founded or invested in a business in Newfoundland and Labrador with close involvement in daily operations for at least one year. 
  • At least 21 years old. 
  • A business continuity plan verified by a designated third party.
  • Completed a full-time degree or diploma worth minimum two years of education.
  • A valid Post-Graduate Work Permit.
  • The desire to live and work and Newfoundland and Labrador while running your business.
  • At least 33.3% ownership of the business. 
  • The business must create at least one full-time employment opportunity for a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
  • Verifying the for-profit potential and intentions of the business. 
  • A minimize score of 7 on the Canadian Language Benchmark test.

The following candidates are not eligible to apply for the International Graduate Entrepreneur stream: 

  • Candidates currently residing illegally in a foreign country.
  • Candidates issued a removal order by the IRCC or Canada Border Services Agency.
  • Candidates banned from entering Canada.
  • Candidates ineligible to apply due to their void status.
  • Candidates intending to become passive investors.

International Entrepreneur Stream

This NLPNP stream is designed to facilitate business managers or experienced entrepreneurs intending to start or acquire a business and permanently live and work in Newfoundland and Labrador. 

NLPNP International Entrepreneur Stream Requirements
  • Age: 21 to 59 years.
  • A business detailing the agendas of the new business, verified by a professional third-party source.
  • Education: At least a Canadian high school diploma verified by an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA). 
  • Desire to settle, live and work permanently in the province.
  • A net worth of at least $600,000.
  • A minimum investment of $200,000 with at least 33.3% business ownership.
  • The business must create at least one-fulltime position for a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
  • At least two of experience in managing a self-owned business or five years of experience in a senior management position.
  • A minimum score of 5 in all categories of the Canadian Language Benchmark test.
